The sneer is evident in Yellow Diamond’s voice, but Rose chooses to ignore it, smiling sweetly instead. She’s been waiting eagerly for the chance to brag about her newest and fanciest toy, and is more than pleased that Yellow Diamond has given her the excuse. “I did! All the best options, of course. After seeing White Diamond’s Pearl, I just knew I had to upgrade.”
Blue Diamond’s eyes narrow, glaring meaningfully at the pair of them. “This has absolutely nothing to do with Kindergarten management, which, might I remind you two, is why we are having this meeting?”
“Oh, we’ve got plenty of time for that,” White Diamond pipes up dismissively, turning to Rose instead with interest. She’d known flattery would be the best way to get the other leader on her side. “Which options did you go for?”
“She’s a great dancer, of course,” she gushes, “Lovely singing voice, too. She has built-in holographic abilities as well as increased storage capacity. She’s as useful as she is beautiful. You should consider ordering yourself one.”
“If she’s so useful,” Yellow Diamond asks skeptically, “Why didn’t you bring her here?”
Rose laughs. “Oh, of course I brought her with me! I thought it inappropriate to bring her into our meeting chamber without prior approval. She’s waiting for me outside.”
“Why don’t we take a break and have a look at her?” White Diamond suggests, turning to Yellow Diamond. “Honestly, you really should consider getting your own. You won’t regret it.”
There is no protest from Blue Diamond aside from an annoyed roll of her eyes, so Rose is more than happy to acquiesce.
“Pearl?” she calls out loudly, shifting into her most saccharine voice, “Come in here so everyone can have a look at you.”
