Garnet’s lips curve up into a smile against Pearl’s skin at those words, and she takes the opportunity to press another kiss there simply because she can. Her own skin seems ridiculously warm to her, she feels like she must be just radiating heat, but with her eyes closed at least her mind quiets down for a moment. This whole experience has been scary and exhilarating so far, but every step of the way Pearl has been calming her fears and making her feel important. And every touch is slowly erasing her fears that she’s doing something wrong, her fears that maybe Pearl doesn’t like her after all… It’s difficult to feel that way with slender fingers tangled in her hair and the girl she cares about content and settled underneath her.

“If I’m wonderful, what does that make you?” she asks, shifting slightly to nuzzle against Pearl’s jaw. “I’m pretty sure you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
